The AFI bullet-train is certainly picking up speed. Okay, bad analogy, but still! The media is starting to pick up on the AFI buzz, and there’s a good number of press sources out there that make mention of our beloved A Fire Inside. Some of them are logged here:

More Than Three Chord Punk by James Barone (appearing on Synthesis.com)

Synthesis has a few AFI-related articles. This is the most recent one, I believe. An interview with the always charming Davey. He discusses the evolution of music, the move to Dreamworks, and the Despair Faction (which my broke ass is too poor to join).

AFI vs. UOD by Cliff Greenwood (appearing on Synthesis.com)

Bay-area local band, Union of the Dead make comparison between their success and that of AFI’s, and round up their article with a discussion with Mr. Davey Havok. Son of Sam, vocal coaching, and Davey’s obsession with a foam-rubber skeleton are discussed.

Punk on the Brain by Pete Geniella (appearing on Synthesis.com)

A vintage piece of AFI press. Synthesis sits down with Davey circa Shut Your Mouth to talk about Rancid, the mutilation of Davey’s hands, and asshole Bouncers.

Interview with Adam Carson by some guy named Bob (originally appeared on Exanguination.org)

Um…Okay, so I found this online, and it said that it was from Exanguination.org. Problem is Exanguination.org doesn’t exist. Now, you can imagine how much this blows, since I like to give credit where credit’s due. So, in otherwords, Exanguination.org, wherever you may be, I salute you! Anyway, as you may have guessed, Adam is the subject of this little sit-down.

Interview with Davey Havok by Jonah (appearing on Jonah’s website)

This is a sXe geek (much like myself) with a pretty neat site overall, who got to talk to Davey. The interview is pretty good, with some off-the-wall questions. Davey mentions listening to Wumpscutt, which I think is funny. Not that I don’t enjoy Wumpscutt, but just think about it: the band’s name is Wumpscutt! Now if that doesn’t make you at least titter self-conciously, then you, my friend, have no soul!

Like a Phoenix Rising by Vinnie Apicella (appearing on ballbusterhardmusic.com)

Yay! An interview with a creative title! Anywho, a little sit-down with Jade, where we learn about his writing, and how Europe (yes, all of it) enjoys Hardcore more than normal old punk. Good interview, but the interviewer seems a bit clueless at times. Oh well. I probably couldn’t do better.

Interview with Davey by Lisa and Nithya (appearing on rocknrollhospital.com)

Very…bizarre interview. Davey is hounded to talk about popcicles. He also goes into depth about his vegan lifestyle, and how he can’t remember the dream he had the night before, causing readers everywhere simultaniously call out, “Dude, I hate that!”

AFI by damian (appearing in Hand Carved Magazine)

Another interview with Adam. The funny part is that the interviewer thought he was Hunter, and proceded to call him that. Poor guy was real embarased. Kind of short, but all worth it for the fact that they actually published the case of mistaken identity.
